Speaker 0 00:00:00 Hey, friends, I wanna tell you about the course that we've just opened up, enrollment again, called Finding My Place in God's Story. This is a course designed to help you understand the scriptures better, and also further discover how God has gifted you to participate in his restoring work. So, th this course looks at first of all, the, the goal is that we wanna embody Jesus in our communities. We want to embody Jesus in our world, and how do we embody Jesus? Well, first we gotta get to know Jesus, and we get to know Jesus through His word and discovering his message, internalizing his message. And, and through that, then, then we know how we can interact with him, even in prayer and in a more personalized, experiential way, so that we can then go and reflect and embody Him in our world. And so this course is designed to help us understand how to approach the scriptures, how to understand the scriptures better, how do we know what the scriptures mean?
Speaker 0 00:01:02 What is kind of the overarching story and theme of the scripture? What is the gospel? What is the purpose of humanity in this world? But it's also, it does more than that. It, it also shifts from looking at scripture and the story, what God is doing to looking at our own stories and what has God been doing or what has been happening. And it's tough to see that God's bringing anything good out of it. And in that process of kind of looking back and seeing God's fingerprints on our past, we're discovering ways that he is empowering us and equipping us to reflect him. The Christian word is to minister the, the, the types of ministry that we can have. But, but just more simply what God wants us to do is just go and reveal himself in creation through our jobs, through our work, through our relationships.
Speaker 0 00:01:54 And so how can we do that in the middle of a, a chaotic world where there's many different issues and, and there's different perspectives on things, and how can we be faithful reflectors of God's image? That's the whole goal and purpose of this course. There are five modules to this course, about 26 video lessons. And it's designed that you can, you can watch these lessons on your own. You can kind of go at your own pace. They're very simple. The longest lesson is maybe 25 minutes, and then some of 'em are as short as 10, 10 or 12 minutes. And so you can watch 'em, you can listen to 'em. There's also a workbook that accompanies where you can be processing what you're learning, but then also kind of journaling some of your own story along the way and, and be a, a place of kind of finding language for things and, and discovering what God is wanting to do through you. Enrollment's gonna be open for about a month. We open enrollment on October 21st, and so enrollment is gonna close around
